Carla Ockerman-HunterCarla Ockerman-Hunter, M.A., NCCC, MCC is President of Career Span, Inc. a career development firm specializing in occupational resources including assessments, resume writing, interviewing preparation and job search strategies. A master career counselor, she co-authored Intersection: Where Career Theories, Models and Resources Converge (2009) a nationally approved curriculum for the Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) credential. She developed career assessments including The Portfolio of Assets (2003) and Finding Your Place in the World of Work (2011). She has worked with a broad spectrum of clients ranging from high school students preparing for college to working adults making career changes including job loss, relocation, and transitioning into retirement. Carla has developed extensive team-building curriculum and facilitation sessions for corporate and organizational clients including strategic planning, succession planning, conflict resolution and becoming a highly effective performer. Since 2005, she has been a certified national instructor for the Global Career Development Facilitator credential. In addition, she has authored multiple career development articles for America Online, The Lexington Herald-Leader and various magazines. Most recently, she contributed articles to the 1st edition of Kentucky's Office of Employment and Training's You're Hired! An Action Plan for Success in Today's Labor Market. Carla was the lead project manager of the Workforce Opportunity Project research study completed in 2010. Today, she works with individual career clients and is a workforce development consultant. She is the co-host of #Schools2Life a national Twitter chat.
